A great Indonesian restaurant to cure homesickness, so far all of their menu i've tried did not dissapoint and taste similar to what you would eat back in Indonesia.
Highlight was the Tilapia fish, it was huge and I think this could be a 2 person dish (order an extra rice on the side and you're done ๐๐ผ) overall everything was great and i have no complaints :)))
Not actually a fan of thick noodles, so they were able to cater my request to have only thin noodles. Food tastes great and price is affordable. I always come here for dine-in and mostly take-away wherever I come to the city and this restaurant never disappoints.๐๐
I like my fried fish very garing, which is what I always get from Pondok Daun. The sambal olek is hot enough for me, and the soup is always tasty and hot, as I insist everytime.
Over the last 4 years I have tried to visit the place once every few months except for the COVID lockdown. I have never been disappointed.
Too bad not many people know about this place but I noticed that with intl students back in uni, I saw lots of Malaysian and Chinese students in the restaurant today.
Let's hope it get busier
We stumbled upon Pondok Daun Restaurant during a last-minute visit before catching our flight back to the Sunshine Coast, and I'm so glad we did! The experience was nothing short of delightful.
The highlight for us was undoubtedly the noodles; hands down the best we've ever had! Bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection, they left a lasting impression. The Batagor, oh my goodness, it transported us right back to the streets of Indonesia. Authentic, crispy, and incredibly tasty.
Despite being in a rush, the service was exceptional. The staff were quick, friendly, and ensured that our dishes were not only served promptly but were also fresh and scrumptious. Their efficiency didn't compromise the quality, and that's something we truly appreciated.
Pondok Daun Restaurant managed to capture the essence of authentic Indonesian street food, making it a must-visit for anyone craving a genuine culinary experience. We regret not having more time to explore the full menu, but if the noodles and Batagor are any indication, we're certain everything here is a culinary delight.
A big thank you to the chefs and staff for making our short visit memorable. We'll definitely be back to savor more of your delicious offerings on our next trip. Terima kasih!
Best Indonesian restaurant in Adelaide. The fish was really amazing. Quick service. Love to go again.
Tonight I had the pleasure of dining at this eatery with a business colleague. We chose the restaurant based on its high rating and were delighted with our experience. My colleague ordered the duck with rice, while I went for the Vermicelli Seafood for mains and wontons as an entrรฉe, and we were both impressed with our choices. The dishes were served quickly, piping hot, and filled with incredible flavor. I must say the portions were generous as well, and I couldn't quite finish my meal. The ambiance of the place wasn't anything fancy, but it certainly was up to the reputation it deserved. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty and satisfying meal.
My first meal in Australia was Loh Bak as a starter and Beef Rendang as the main dish. The food was deliciously spicy. The restaraunt is very simple but comfortable and clean with soft music.
The food is very delicious and the portions are a wonderful size. The food is very quick to come. Th ere are an excellent amount of food varieties.
